Recreation Dance

​Dance With Me (30 Minutes)                        

Dance With Me is for children 18 months – 3 years old and their caregiver.

 

This class provides an opportunity for a child and adult to bond while learning and moving together. The Dance With Me program focuses on, expressing emotion, stimulating creativity, building social skills, expanding rhythmic and body awareness, introducing classroom etiquette, learning coordination and basic jazz/ballet skills.

 

No recital or costume fees.

  

Combo Dance/Tumble (1 Hr.)

Ages 2-5.  Basic jazz/ballet steps and learning coordination skills. Potty trained and can easily leave parent. 

 

The focus of all Preschool Pre-K and Kindergarten classes is to foster a love for dance and learning. This usually is the first experience in a dance class with a teacher and other students; therefore, etiquette such as listening, following instructions and being respectful to others is emphasized. Pre-ballet fundamentals and exercises are taught to increase creativity, flexibility, concentration and focus, providing an early foundation for continued dance education.

Tap 2-5 Yr. (30 Minutes)

Ages 2-5. Basic tap and coordination skills.

 

Tap helps the young dancer with coordination, rhythm, timing and musicality; giving a child a music foundation which is essential for all forms of dance.

Ages 6-8. Basic tap and coordination skills.

​Hip Hop 2-5 Yr. (30 Minutes)

Ages 2-5. Basic hip hop steps and coordination skills.

 

Hip Hop is a street style of dance that focuses on self-expression and movement that involves the whole body. Hip hop focuses on techniques of gliding, popping, locking, breaking and whacking.

Hip Hop Excite (45 Minutes)

Ages 6-and up.

Jazz/Ballet (6-8 Yr.) (45 Minutes)

Ages 6-8. 

Jazz/Ballet classes focus on barre and center floor technique. Basic jazz steps, jazz technique, across the floor and terminology will also be incorporated.

Jazz/Ballet (9-13 Yr.) (45 Minutes)

Ages 9-13. 

Jazz/Ballet classes focus on barre and center floor technique. Basic jazz steps, jazz technique, across the floor and terminology will also be incorporated.

Int./Adv. Ballet/Pointe (1 Hr. Class)

Ages 8 and up.

This class is designed for the Intermediate and Advanced dancer who is working towards beautiful technique.  Classes will focus on barre, center floor, across the floor, intro to pointe and more advanced skills on pointe.

No recital and costume fees.

Open Ballet (1 Hr. Each Class)

Ages 4 and up. 

This is for any company member that desires to take MORE BALLET.  Ballet is the foundation of dance.

No recital and costume fees.

 

Recreation Tumbling

Tumbling classes help students progress through a variety of skills beginning with front and back rolls, cartwheels (right and left), handstands, headstands and back bends.

Beginning Tumbling (1 Hr.)

Ages 6 and up. Beginning.



Tumbling classes help students progress through a variety of skills beginning with front and back rolls, cartwheels (right and left), round offs, handstands, headstand, back bends, and back walkovers.

Beginning/Intermediate Tumbling (1 Hr.)

Ages 6 and up. Beginning/Intermediate.



Tumbling classes help students progress through a variety of skills beginning with front and back rolls, cartwheels (right and left), round offs, handstands, headstand, back bends, front and back walkovers, starting the preparation for a back handspring and side aerials.

Intermediate Tumbling (1 Hr.)

Ages 6 and up. Intermediate. 

 

Tumbling classes help students progress through a variety of skills beginning with cartwheels (right and left), round offs, handstands, headstands, front and back walkovers then move on to master tricks like back handsprings, side aerials, continuous back handsprings and round off back handsprings.

Recital and costume fees.

​Show Biz & Co. (1 Hr.) 

6 and up. Advanced. Show Biz & Co. will be invited to perform routines for local events throughout the year.

The Dancer's Edge Company Classes

Conditioning & Flexibility (1 Hr.)

Ages 4 and up. The Dancer's Edge Company

 

This class will address the physical needs of dancers: increasing strength, stamina and range of motion; improving balance and flexibility; correcting alignment issues; preventing injuries and overuse.

No recital and costume fees.

Turns & Leaps (45 minutes)

Ages 4 and up. The Dancer's Edge Company

This class covers all leaps and turns. Focusing on technique and executing proper skill. Dancers will work across the floor and at center.

No recital and costume fees.

Hip Hop (45 Minutes)

Ages 4 and up. The Dancer's Edge Company

Competitive class. Requires costume/competition fees and recital performance.

​D.E. Tumbling 1 (1 Hr.)

Ages 4 and up. Beginning/Intermediate.

D.E. Tumbling 2 (1 Hr.) 

Ages 6 and up. Intermediate/Advanced.



Tumbling classes help students progress through a variety of skills beginning with cartwheels (right and left), handstands, front and back walkovers then move on to master tricks like back handsprings, side and front aerials, continuous back handsprings, round off back handsprings and round off whips. Students will also work on acro and strength and conditioning drills.

No recital and costume fees.

D.E. Tumbling 3 (1 Hr.) 

6 and up. Advanced.

Int./Adv. Ballet/Pointe (1 Hr. Class)
